What has changed and what new features or plugins did we add in the latest version of Play Digital Signage application.
Sub-Playlists – Advance Parent Option Sub-playlists now include an option to advance the parent playlist after playing a single slide (regardless of the slide’s duration). This gives you more precise control over playlist flow and sequencing.
Weather Asset – Ungroup Single Day Block The single-day weather asset block can now be ungrouped into its individual base components. This allows you to freely rearrange, resize, and style each element (temperature, icon, day name, etc.) for fully custom weather displays.
New Slide Condition: Network A new slide condition type called Network has been added. You can now show or hide slides based on whether the player is online or offline — perfect for creating reliable fallback content or offline-specific messages.
Amazon Signage Stick – Remote Pairing & Batch Wi-Fi Signage Stick updates now support remote pairing of remotes and batch Wi-Fi configuration changes. These enhancements simplify large-scale deployment and ongoing management of your Amazon Signage Sticks.
Screen Capture – Live View Screen Capture now supports Live View! After taking a screenshot, click the Refresh button to auto-update the image on the fly — as fast as every 1 second. This makes it much easier to monitor what is currently playing on your screens in near real-time, troubleshoot issues, or verify dynamic content.
Group & Schedule Screenshot - You can now take a single screenshot of an entire Group or Schedule. All screens in the group/schedule are captured at once, with offline screens clearly marked as “Offline”. A huge time-saver for larger deployments.
News Plugin - We’ve added a powerful new News Plugin! Display live news on your digital signage by searching and selecting major sources (BBC, The New York Times, Bloomberg, ESPN, Fox News, Google News, and many more) or by adding any custom RSS feed. Fully customizable with layout options, article rotation, interval timing, portrait/landscape mode, publication time, full/maximized images, and a QR code so viewers can continue reading on their mobile device.
